Photographic Workshops

Photographic Workshops in the New Forest, Purbeck and Hampshire.

In addition to the PhotoTreks in the New Forest, (see the PhotoNewForest link on the LINKS page), I run Photographic workshops in the New Forest, Hampshire and Dorset. Some trips further afield are also planned. Coastal sunrises and sunsets, bluebells, Purbeck including Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Kimmeridge and the New Forest are all covered at various times throughout the year.

These workshops are designed for the intermediate really and a step up from the PhotoTreks run under PhotoNewForest. They will be location based and cover predominantly landscape photography together with natural forms. You will learn how I plan for photographic trips, what to look for before you go and when at locations, what elements I try to capture in a shot and how to achieve it. The group sizes are small with no more than one tutor to five clients.

If the weather turns against us and I have to cancel a workshop, we'll try to rearrange an alternative date or you will receive a full refund of any monies paid if you prefer.

Later we'll move down to a forest stream and shoot through the shrouding trees before adjourning for a debrief over breakfast around 0900 finishing around an hour later.
Tuition, guidance, tea, coffee and snack bars are included in the price of £45 per person, plus whatever you have for breakfast

Wednesday 27th August 2008

Meeting in the Bolderwood area around 5.45pm, we'll try and capture the evening light on the heather at one of the highest points in the New Forest before waiting for the sun to go down. We'll leave the location around 8.30pm and adjourn for a swift half and debrief at a local pub, finishing around an hour later.
Tuition, guidance, tea, coffee and snack bars are included in the price of £45 per person, plus whatever your tipple may be.

Purbeck

This winters dates have now past. New dates will be added from November onwards. please Email me if you are interested in attending. E Mail : Ian Badley Photography

We will meet at Ringwood in the morning and travel in my vehicle to the Purbeck on the Dorset coast. Work is being carried out on Corfe Castle but if an opportunity exists, this mystical castle ruin will be included in the itinerary. The steep West Hill will be climbed and the castle photographed from there. In the afternoon we will head for the coast to shoot seascapes in the Kimmeridge area. Here we will photograph the wonderful rock formations and pools before sundown, when hopefully the winter sunset will provide the final shots of the day. We will leave Kimmmeridge around 6pm and should arrive back at Ringwood around 7pm. Whilst you are with me, tuition, guidance, tea, coffee and snack bars are included in the price of £65 per person but you will need to bring a packed lunch with you. If it is easier for you, then you can take your own vehicle and meet either at Ringwood, or at the National Trust car park as you enter Corfe, prior to travelling to Kimmeridge. A discount of £10 applies if you take your own vehicle. (Contact for further travel details).

Please note that Kimmeridge is rocky and the rocks are very slippery when damp.

This is an extremely popular venue if past visits are anything to go by and offers fantastic photographic opportunities. Have a look at some of my Purbeck images here,

Further dates to be added soon
