STUNNING TUSCANY Thursday 3rd May – Tuesday 9th May 2012

A 6 night photographic experience in Tuscany in 2012

Following the success of previous Workshops in Tuscany, we will be running another in 2012.

Staying just outside the small town of San Quirico d’Orcia, overlooking the photographer’s dream location of the beautiful Val d’Orcia, we have a wonderful photographic experience planned.

Dawn shoots on the doorstep, trips to the hilltop towns of Pienza, the famous Montepulciano and the area around Montalcino are included together with vines, poppies, other wild flowers and of course the far reaching rolling Tuscan hills complete with the ubiquitous cypress trees. My wife Julia and I have spent a great deal of time exploring the area over a number of years, arguably finding the best locations, saving you the hard work.

Group numbers will be limited allowing excellent ‘student/teacher’ ratio ensuring there is plenty of time for individual advice.

In 2012 I will be joined by fellow professional photographer, Jim Pascoe. Jim’s use of light is renowned as is his passion for photography which is seriously infectious, so he will be adding a new dimension and perspective to the tuition on offer.

The course starts at 5pm on Thursday 3rd May and concludes at dinner on Tuesday 8th May 20120.
Most days will start with a dawn shoot and then after breakfast we may review the morning’s images or have a short tutorial session before going out in our vehicles to a Tuscan village or town to shoot before having lunch in a local restaurant. There is a short siesta after lunch most days for you (or me) to have a nap before we head off to another location shoot before returning in time for dinner around 8:00pm.

Monday will be a free day for you to relax or maybe go on an excursion. Jim and I will be around for some adhoc tutorial and advice if required.

The Itinerary will be flexible enough to enable an interesting time for all. You don’t have to attend all the sessions, if you want a lie in, as some have done in the past, that’s fine.

You may of course wish to make a longer holiday and extend your stay or make it part of a tour of Italy, it’s up to you.

FITNESS
The course does involve some walking and some hills on uneven ground which may also be slippery early in the morning. You will also be walking around in towns and villages so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

PARTNERS
Non photographic partners really are more than welcome. Julia and Jim’s wife Nicky, will be around to provide some company if required. There are a number of beautiful rural walks in the area. In previous years, Julia and photographic partners walked into Pienza and San Quirico across the hills and fields to join the photographers for lunch at typical Italian restaurants. They also visited the interesting medieval spa village of Bagno Vignoni, as well just enjoying the magic of watching colourful bee-eaters whilst drinking a glass of chilled wine in the late afternoon sun. Partners are able to join the photographers for breakfast and dinners every day. Excursions to places of interest and a vineyard can be arranged subject to numbers and transport.
