Despite a gloomy forecast earlier in the week, the heavens cleared to produce acceptable weather for the day at the world famous five star Chewton Glen Hotel in the New Forest. This first event, an Introduction to Phototrek, took place within the magnificent grounds. The day started after coffee and mouthwatering biscuits and then a short photographic exercise for the guests, followed by a presentation by Barry Whitcher and myself, who run the PhotoTreks. After a break for lunch in restaurant, Barry and I took the guests into the grounds for a condensed version of our usual PhotoTreks. Nothing was skimped however, all the usual topics were covered and as usual, stopping the guests from taking photographs was a difficult task! A return to the Chewton Glen Library for tea and cherry cake some two hours later, provided respite while we summed up prior to departure. It was pleasing that we were clapped after our performance, and all appeared to have an enjoyable day. The next Chewton Glen PhotoTrek event is in June, wher we will be venturing out to Keyhaven.
